Wide, open shoreline with easy parking and lots of space to practice casting without snagging trees or other anglers. Great first-lesson spot.

Saltwater · Jetty fishing

Pasir Ris Jetty

A calm jetty next to Pasir Ris Park, good for learning bottom fishing and handling smaller catches like catfish and small groupers.

Saltwater · Jetty fishing

Bedok Jetty

A longer jetty popular with local anglers — a good next step once you're comfortable casting and want a shot at bigger fish.

Freshwater

Marina East / Marina Barrage area

Calm freshwater fishing close to the city, useful for practicing lighter tackle and different bait techniques.

Freshwater · Reservoir

Lower Seletar Reservoir

Quiet, scenic reservoir spot for freshwater species — a relaxed setting that's great for younger or first-time anglers.

Saltwater · Shore casting

Changi Point / Changi Beach

A relaxed beach and boardwalk area, good for combining a fishing lesson with a beach day for the whole family.

Estuary · Shore casting

Kallang Riverside Park

A scenic riverside park along the Kallang estuary, close to the city with easy parking — good for practicing casting in calmer, brackish water.

How we pick the spot

I choose the location together with you when booking, based on your child's age, experience level, and the weather/tide forecast for that day. New anglers usually start at East Coast Park or Pasir Ris before moving on to jetty fishing.

All locations are public, easy-access spots with nearby parking and toilets — nothing remote or hard to reach.
